SquirrelZip

Privacy Policy

SquirrelZip processes every archive entirely on your device. Here's exactly what that means, and what limited data is involved in showing ads.

Last updated: October 4, 2026

On-Device Processing

Every tool in SquirrelZip — compressing, extracting, and previewing zip, RAR, 7-Zip, TAR, and GZIP archives — runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad using open-source libraries (ZIPFoundation, SSZipArchive, SWCompression, and Unrar.swift) bundled directly into the app. Your files are never uploaded to any server — Wasaz AI Solutions does not have a server to upload them to, and never sees, stores, or has access to the contents of any file or archive you work with in SquirrelZip, including passwords you set on them.

Advertising

SquirrelZip is free to use because it shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app may collect:

  • Device identifiers, such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), only if you allow tracking
  • Approximate location, based on your IP address
  • Usage and diagnostic information, such as ad impressions, taps and app crashes
  • Basic device information, such as model, operating system version and language

This data is collected and processed by Google under its own policies. It never includes the contents of any archive you create or extract, or any password you set. Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Your Choices

iOS may ask whether SquirrelZip can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," SquirrelZip cannot access your device's advertising identifier and you'll see less personalized ads. Every feature of the app still works either way.

You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you'll also be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.

What We Don't Collect

SquirrelZip does not require an account, a login, or any personal information to use. We don't operate our own analytics or tracking inside the app, and we don't know who you are, what archives you've created or opened, or what's inside them.

Permissions

SquirrelZip does not request camera, photo library, location, or any other special permission. Picking files or photos to compress, or choosing where to save what you extract, goes through Apple's own Files and Photos pickers and share sheet, which hand SquirrelZip only the specific items you choose — nothing is accessed in the background.

The only other permission SquirrelZip may request is the tracking permission described above, which is optional.

Files You Create

Archives you create and files you extract with SquirrelZip are saved to the location you choose — either your device's Files app or shared directly through the standard iOS share sheet (AirDrop, Mail, and similar). SquirrelZip keeps a local History list of your recent activity so you can find things again quickly; this list, and everything it points to, stays on your device and is only shared, exported, or deleted when you choose to do so.

Children

SquirrelZip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
